This upcoming month Siemens is proud to host two Panel Builder Days webinars! These two events will educate on best practices and standards in the industrial panel building world.

Panel Builder Days Webinar Series

Upcoming Classes:

June 4th (10:00 – 11:00 AM CDT) Communication in the Panel:

Are you looking for ways to reduce the time it takes to engineer, wire and assemble your control panel? One way to do this is by adding communication to the control panel, which provides added benefits for both panel builders and end-users. For the end user, communication allows for system level diagnostics that can help avoid costly downtime. For panel builders, adding communication in the control panel can mean a significant reduction in engineering, wiring and assembly time. In this webinar, we will explore technologies such as IO-Link and Industrial Ethernet (PROFINET) enabled pilot devices that add communication in the control panel while reducing overall engineering, wiring and assembly time.

June 18th (10:00 – 11:00 AM CDT) Designing Compliant and Efficient Motor Branch Circuits:

Safe and standard compliant motor branch circuits for industrial control panels are governed by requirements in the National Electric Code (NFPA70) and UL508A. However, in today’s market, simply meeting the standard requirements is not enough – you need to design safe control panels that are cost competitive.

In this Panel Building Days Webinar, we will cover the requirements from NPFA70 and UL508A for designing motor branch circuits including defining the feeder and branch circuits, requirements for single motor branch circuits, and requirements for group motor branch circuits (group installation). Additionally, we will discuss why it is so important to not only design your motor branch circuit to the standards, but to also design for efficiency by offering best practice examples for reducing the overall costs of your control panels.
